Great Pelean Farm is a grade 11 listed farm house situated very close to the breath taking south coast of Cornwall. The house itself is believed to date back to the early 13th century, and the front door has even more history, believed to date from the 12th century, having been removed from Tywardreath Abbey when the monks were recalled to France. Set in around four and a half acres the house is on the edge of a working livestock and arable farm.
Since Andy and Jane Jones moved here in 1998 a lot of restoration work has taken place to both the house and garden. Much of this was necessary to give the building back its sense of pride and also to make it water tight again!
If you want a peaceful location then look no further! Whilst being set in a rural location we are only around half a mile from the main A390. If you are intending to visit the Eden Project (we are only 3.5 miles away near enough, for the fit, to walk or cycle and get a reduced admission fee when you arrive) stay with us and enter Eden by a second entrance which should be a lot quicker. Also conveniently located for The Lost Gardens of Heligan, Mevagissey, Fowey, Polperro, Padstow and Lanhydrock and a selection of beaches.
Whilst staying with us we want you to feel at home and so we offer you the use of a combined lounge and dining room where you can sit (by the wood burner if its cold), watch television, read or listen to the radio rather than being confined to your room. The Garden is also available for those who want to sit and listen to the birds or just to the sound of silence.
For the more energetic you may use the trampoline so long as you accept total responsibility for any accidents or incidents. Why not enjoy a complimentary cream tea outdoors if weather permits?
We think that your breakfast is a very important part of your stay so we pride ourselves on the superb start to the day that we offer. You choose what time you'd like to eat (up until 9.30am) and then you select as much or as little as you like from a fairly extensive menu. How about picking some different flavoured sausages from the selection of approximately 40 different varieties? Add some of our own free range eggs and some local bacon and what about some homemade bread and marmalade or lemon curd. We are told that the breakfast keeps some of our guests going all day.
